What is a Retreat?

We feel it is a time to retreat from the world, to retreat to your self. We create a quiet and safe supported place where you can, at the least retreat from the world and your life as other people see it. Take time to see yourself through your own eyes rather than through the eyes of others. That can be scarier than you might think. At Coolbagh it always turns out to be an uplifting and a joyful ‘seeing’.

Some come to get help developing their meditation skills. Some come to discover how to go about finding their skills. Meditation is just one part of the retreat event here with us. There is a unique quiet peacefulness here and Ella’s food is so good. Others come to be with the trees and others still to be with the land. The spirit of the mighty river Blackwater is a wonderful retreat guide. Our Missy is a mighty 17 hand chestnut mare. Missy is a wonderful event in herself which ever side of her fence you are on.  We have walks and ways, prayers and healing, so much magical stuff to make your retreat a real retreat from the world.

Protection

The thing we teach you first would seem like a logical thing to share with you here at an early stage in your visit.

Many people accept having had a bad feeling about a place or person that they met. Others claim to know instinctively when someone is looking at them from outside their field of vision. Some people get a yucky sort of feeling from objects. The first time we enter a room or building we may feel uneasy for no particularly logical reason. Certain people or places give us the creeps or a shudder... I am sure you get the idea by now!

So what we do is teach you some techniques that show you how to protect yourself at a psychic level. You will be able to protect yourself and those that are dear to you from the negativity of people, places and even events.

So whatever the place or situation you will have affirmations and rituals to call on quickly and speedily to re-affirm yourself and to dispose of any feelings of fear that might try to prevail.

We do this by using deep relaxation techniques to implant confidence and the truth of right in your subconscious and/or by teaching you practical rituals and affirmations. Now don’t panic at that word rituals. A ritual is neither an accidental nor indeed a necessary event, but it is an intentional event to mark a special occasion. In this case the occasion is the protection of ourselves and the protection of them that we care for.

The Chakra System

We will teach you just how important this whole system is. You will realise when you encounter it that it is the basis of everything. It is the foundation for so many of the therapies and 'isms that are being taught and learned. From Reiki to Acupuncture, the Chakra system is where life stories begin. You will be offered an opportunity to learn about imbalances in your own system and how to balance them. We will show you how to use a pendulum to identify weakness in your system and what crystals and gemstones will restore the strength and balance to them. Pat will of course be delighted to perform a personal balancing for you.
